Guernseys were originally knitted for seamen to wear skin tight and are still sized by their actual measurement around the chest.

Today we do not wear jumpers skin tight so in order to find your correct size of guernsey take your actual chest or bust measurement at its widest and add four inches.

For our very smallest sizes just adding two inches will give a tighter fit, but as these are child sizes we recommend that you still add four to give your child room to grow.

Our Cotton garments have a little more give and so for a tighter fit just add two inches at the smaller sizes.

This size adjustment is required for all the garments we sell including the cardigans and gilets.

Those over 6'3" should consider our supersize guernseys because they have a longer arm and body than is usual to accomodate the taller frame.
